Sunday service changes from Sunday 26th July

We are pleased to announce that, as part of our plan to restart services in our church building, from Sunday 26th July we will be having a traditional Holy Communion service on Sunday’s at 8:45am.

Our ‘unlocking the church’ team have been working hard to ensure that the building is safe for use, and we will be complying with all necessary guidance around social distancing and hygiene.

Our 10:00am online service will be continuing throughout this period and we are looking forward to welcoming you at either service.

Church open for private prayer

The news you have been waiting for. We are pleased to announce that St. Matthew’s church building is open for private prayer on Monday’s 10.00am – 12 noon and Thursday’s 4.00pm – 6.00pm.

We have been cautious in our use of space to allow for two metres between seats and the aisles so we can welcome back those who are wary about mixing with people. This means there will be limited capacity and possibly a wait to enter the church.

If you want to know what to expect when you visit our church building for private prayer, please watch this video or read these frequently asked questions.

Church office and centre

Kirsten (Church administrator) and Adrian (Center Manager) are now working on a part-time basis, one day a week, so please bear with them as it may take a bit longer to respond to any enquiries.

Annual Parochial Council Meeting (AGM)

Our Annual General Meeting has been postponed to later in the year (a new date will be announced in due course).

This means that our current wardens, PCC members and deanery synod representatives will all remain in post until further notice. Any nominations that have already been submitted will be included once we open up the process again.

Home Groups

Our home groups won’t be meeting face to face for the time being, and if they haven’t been already, your home group leader will be in touch about how your group will continue to support one another during this time.

Please continue to keep in touch, pray for and support each other, and study the Bible. If you’re not part of a home group, now is the perfect time to have a group of people supporting you, so let us know if you’d like to join one.
