Barbara Parker

Safeguarding Officer

Barbara currently supports St Matthew’s in a voluntary capacity as Safeguarding Officer. Barbara works to ensure all those involved with children and vulnerable adults have the appropriate levels of training and DBS clearances. From time to time you may get an email (or several emails) from Barbara through Church Suite requesting you renew your training or DBS clearance.

Barbara has been a member of St Matthew’s, with her husband, Steve, and growing family since 1993.

In 2016, Barbara retired from the teaching profession, and before teaching was lucky enough to spend 8 years at home with her young family. Before that she worked for a large banking institution.

Barbara’s grandchildren bring lots of fun and laughter to her busy family life. She loves gardening, cooking, baking cakes, and can often be seen on days out at National Trust gardens and coffee shops.
