Judith Ridgway

Churchwarden

Judith is a churchwarden and has an additional role as one of two homegroup coordinators along with Priscilla. Duties are many and varied – from putting out service sheets on Sundays to authorising payments from the church to helping people with queries about various aspects of church life. It’s also a great way of getting to know people better and feeling part of a church family.

Judith was born in Walsall but spent some time in Nottingham where she studied German with French at university and took additional qualifications afterwards. Judith always wanted to use languages in the business world and the majority of her career was with an Austrian special steel company, where she developed business in steels and nickel alloys with the UK aerospace and power generation industry – and had lots of trips to Austria!

Judith enjoys German and other languages, and as well as getting some practice in church when she and Alyson converse, she leads German language groups at Walsall and Sandwell U3As. She is also a school governor. When she has leisure time she likes to spend time with her husband Mike and with friends, walking or eating out, and she enjoys reading and crochet. Those who know her well will be aware that she loves cats, and has had rescue cats for many years – she and Mike currently share their home with Eddie and Megan who were adopted last year.
